Ellis Athletics Camps provide young athletes with opportunities to develop their athletic potential through a variety of sport-specific programs.

Athletics camps are led by Ellis head coaches along with college and high school student-athletes. Campers will participate in team competitions, as well as informal play and skill-building sessions.

    Dates: June 24-28, 2024 (Monday–Friday)
    Half-Day Hours: 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
    Full-Day Hours: 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
    Cost: $295 for half-day camp, $415 for full-day camp
    Age Group: 7–15
    Gender: Girls only
    Lunch: Not provided. Campers should bring lunch each day.
  • The Game Plan

    Soccer Camp is for players of all skill levels, whether they are still developing their talents or they're looking to improve their game in a fun and fast-paced environment. Players will work on mastering the proper fundamentals, techniques, and advancing their overall skills and knowledge of the game. This is a great opportunity for players to learn through a mix of drills, games, and competitive play.

  • The Game Plan

    At Basketball Camp, athletes will work to improve their ability to understand the game through in-game skill development with a focus on fundamentals. Campers of all skill levels will benefit from being taught the basic techniques of shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, and defense. Players will also participate in game-like drills, fundamental stations, contests, and 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games.

    Campers will not be admitted earlier than 8:30 a.m. Parents/guardians should walk their child(ren) to the athletic field gate but are not allowed on campus or inside any school buildings. 

    All full-day camps end at 3:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Soccer Camp offers a half-day option that will allow for pickup at 12:00 p.m. 
     
    Parents/guardians of younger children should come to the athletic field to pick up their child(ren).

    All camp programs take place on The Ellis School's campus, located in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Directions and a campus map can be found here.

    Basketball Camp will take place in both Janet's Gym and Joy’s Gym. Soccer Camp will take place on the Ellis Athletic Field located at the back of the school.

Q: What should my child bring to camp each day?

    • Full-day campers will need to provide their own lunch. No microwave or fridge is available, so please plan your camper’s lunch accordingly. Campers should also bring a snack for mid-morning break time.
    • All campers should bring a water bottle labeled with their first and last name. We have refill stations for water bottles!

    Drop-off begins at 8:30 a.m. at the athletic field gate after the instructors arrive on campus. Campers will not be admitted earlier than 8:30 a.m. Camp programming will officially begin every day at 9:00 a.m. sharp.
     
    After-care is available for full-day campers ages 9 and under only. Families who are interested in after-care should contact summerprograms@messianicfamilyfellowship.com. After-care runs daily from 3:15 to 5:45 p.m. and is operated by the Ellis Summer Programs staff. After-care includes campers from Ellis’ Soccer Camp and Coed Kids Camp programs. A small snack will be provided for after-care campers.
     
    The daily rate for after-care is $30 per day per child when you register in advance. Sign up for the whole week at a reduced price of $130 per child!

Q: How do I drop off and pick up my camper?

    Campers will be dropped off and picked up at the athletic field gate located at the back of the school, closest to Penn Avenue. To get to the athletic field, turn onto Bakery Square Boulevard off of Penn Avenue. You may park in the back parking lot while dropping off or picking up your camper. View campus map here.
